Relight the Marquee!

A fundraising effort to refurbish the Orpheum Theatre Marquee

The Madison Trust for Historic Preservation is currently raising money to restore the Orpheum’s Marquee to its original 1927 grandeur. The goal of the fundraising is two fold:
  1. Rebuild an exact replica of the original vetical marquee from 1927. The cost to rebuild a vertical marquee is around $60,000.
  2. Refurbish and relight the horizontal marquee. This phase will cost around $140,000.
We had our first fundraising event in December of 2006 and raised over $30,000, but are relying on the generous support of organizations and individuals in the Madison community to complete the goal.
